So i started a painting last night on a panel, and it didnt come out the way i wanted it. So i started slopping paint around and this is what came out of it. I call it abstract candy.

A First For Me!

Got some new wood panels last month so i decided to start on one of them last night. This is a first for me as far as painting on wood panels. So far i like how the sketch is coming out. Once i finish it i can seal it to get it ready to paint. Its a 14x18 size and the panels are skinny enough to fit in a regular picture frame so they wont have to be custom done. I think from now on im going to try to do frames for all my new stuff...if its not to exspensive. Updates coming soon.

I wasnt going to post any more progress pics on the site, just finished peices....but this one was coming out pretty cool looking so i had to post it. Im pleased especially with how the eyes turned out. This is oil on a circle canvas. Its about 20inches. The only thing i have to add is the playing cards in the back once the white paint dries.

Here is a update on a old/new pic im working on. I added the green and the hair last night. Now i just need to darken the background so the kimono can stand out more. Ill probably add some designs to the kimono also. And i have to finish the face.

Here is two sketches i did last night. The first one is of a broken rubics cube. I could either leave it with just the cube peices or my other idea was to paint people into the peice and have them actually painting the color onto the cubes. We will see. The other is just of a little kid being shy i guess. Im really excited to see how the rubics cube peice turns out. Its a pretty big canvas so it should be a cool effect.

Here is my first attempt at oil painting. I got the pose from a pic from a artist named Justin Taylor. Then i just added my lil flare to it. Its not done yet. One of these days i hope to finish it. It will take a lil longer though since the oils take so long to dry.

So my small paintings seem to sell out realy fast. So i think from now until the next show i will try to get as many small pieces done that i can. This one i did in a bout half hour. Its about a 4x12. Its as long as a regular ruler.

O.k. So here is the final date for the next show...March 20th,2010. It will be at the same place Metropolis Comix 8241 Bruceville Rd suite 160 Sacramento, Cal 95823. from 6pm to 9pm. Im sorry that i havent posted any art in a while, but i havent really had any time for it. Because oils take so long to dry and i dont have as much time before the show that i would have liked to prepare, im going back to acrylics for this show. I wont have as many small ones as the last one had, but there should be a good number of new peices as well as some from the last show that didnt sell. I hope that everyone can make it out. I wont be posting any pics of the art this time before the show, but they will be up after. See you all in march and thank you for your patience.

So the whole oil painting thing is coming along alot slower than ive hoped. I wanted to get some new pieces done in oil for the show, but because of time constraints, i think i will do the pieces for the next show in acrylic. The next show will be the 3rd saturday in march. It will be at the same place in sac as the last show, Metropolis Comix. Doing acrylics will alow me to get more pieces done for the show because of the drying time. Hope to see everyone in march!

So this is a small flat panel canvas that i messed up on so i decided to paint over it. What better way to try something new than on a old canvas. This came from a photograph of a guy in a hoodie leaning on a rail. I thought i would spray it with a lil white like he was in a snow storm. It came out ok. But i need alot work on getting the folding of the crease's on the clothes. In time i guess.
Still havent got to my really big projects yet for the next show. Hopefully soon cause they are just waiting to get out of my head and on to a canvas.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who came and supported me at my art show. We had an amazing turn out. Out of the 30 pieces that i brought i sold 11 pieces. Not bad for my first time! Again, a big thanks to everyone!! You guys are the BEST!! Special thanks to my dad who made my cards/flyers for the show!! They were Great!!
And a special thanks to my wife who was patient with me all these months while i worked on my art like a mad scientist, and our office looked like a tornado hit it with all my art and paint everywhere. She looked amazing at the show ( as usual ). I love You!!

O.k so here is my first attempt at a small canvas.I kinda like them a lil better than the big ones. ( For one they dont take as much ink and paint.) I did it for rach so she can take it to work, cause some of the other girls there have paintings and drawings up at their desk. Anyways, i was making this for a friend of mine, but now i dont know if i want to give it away because it came out pretty good. I always do work that i like for other people but when its for me it never turns out that good. Go figure!!

"CHEAP THERAPY"

You say you need my help, but you have no way to repay.
Sit back and relax while you take a journey on this word play.
Replaying, reminiscing, on memories in your mind
wishing you could return and go back in time
repressing all the bad that has ever come your way

Pooh was a bear. Who lived without a care.

Until he used some nair, which left pooh pretty bare.

Now that he had no hair, people looked and stared.

Pooh felt so embarresed.

Why shouldnt he, he was hairless.

Pooh had no food. His cubbards were bare.

He couldnt get a job anywhere.

So pooh thought to himself without despair,

I guess ill go and get on welfare.

But no one seem to take food stamps.

He was so hungry his stomache would cramp.

But just when pooh thought the end was near,

One little strand of hair appeared.

Pooh jumped up and down with joy and glee,

"MY HAIR IS COMING BACK TO ME!"

He ran down the street bursting with laughter.

And from then on, lived happily for a long time.
